Hack Ack
Contest Information:
This lighthearted contest is focused on fun and spontaneity. Attendees will
learn of the guidelines the week before the conference. They will then have
until Tuesday evening to create something along the theme. Use of items
prepared prior to the competition is not allowed, unless these items are
available to everyone.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in this contest. Teams are equally good as
individuals. Even employees of SumTotal Systems and Platte Canyon may
participate, but they may only do so on an exhibition basis (no awards or
judging for them).
Judging is by audience applause and will occur immediately after all entries are
presented.
Hack Ack presentations will be interspersed with Karaoke performances -- so
showmanship may certainly rank high among the "judges."
How to Enter
Show up! There is no entry procedure. We will simply ask for anyone who wants
to present their Hack-Ack entry to sign up on a notepad at the beginning of the
Tuesday evening social.
Also, it will be up to each participant to arrange for a laptop to demo the
application on. We will have one or two machines if needed, but this should be
arranged ahead of time.
It's all about fun.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know how much I liked your conference. It was wonderful and I hope I can be there again in 2008.

It is just a great learning experience.

Whether you are a novice or advanced developer, this conference has something for everyone. All presenters (and attendees) are more than willing to help you and share their experiences. There's no other conference like it.

It kind of reminds me of something Johnny Carson used to do with the "Amazing Karnack" where he would hold the envelope up to his head and name the content inside based on some clue written on the outside. In this case I could envision the outside saying "Sex and Platte Canyon' s ToolBook Conference". The inside would say "name two great experiences you have to personally be a player in order to appreciate". Words do not describe the value and rewards from attending this conference. I continue to tell my management that if there is only one thing we get to attend due to budgetary issues I want it to be this conference.

TBCON was the best I have been to in several years. Cheers to Jeff, Chris, and all the Platte Canyon gang for a great conference.

The conference lived up to everything it was advertised to be and more. While the regular conference was great, I really enjoyed the pre conference. Those who did not attend the preconference really missed seeing you guys in action and what you have to share. I have already incorporated a couple of the things I learned at the conference.
